As an Associate Paid Search Strategist, you will support the creation, execution, and optimization of Paid Search accounts and act as the day-to-day Paid Search contact for assigned clients. You will be trained in creating new campaigns, ad groups, and ads within Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. Responsibilities include creating bid strategies, monitoring and implementing optimizations, delivering reports, and fostering relationships with Search and Media experts. The role requires defining and implementing best practices for Paid Search, working with the team for SEM planning, and managing financial aspects of search engine relationships. You will gain experience in campaign optimization, developing strategic guidance, and SEM knowledge. The position involves working closely with the Marketing and Media Team in partnership with the Account Management team.
Must have:
  • Experience with Google Ads and Microsoft Ads is a plus.
  • Advanced English proficiency in reading, writing, and conversation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with Google Ads platform and third-party search technology.

Job Details

As an Associate Paid Search Strategist, you will be supporting the creation, execution, and optimization of Paid Search accounts, and acting as the day to day Paid Search contact to all assigned clients. With guidance from the Search Supervisor, you will gain experience in campaign optimization and set up, developing strategic guidance, and gain knowledge on SEM. The Paid Search Intern will work closely with Critical Mass’ Marketing and Media Team, which partners with clients in tandem with the Account Management team.

PLEASE NOTE: Only candidates located in San José, Costa Rica, and surrounding areas will be considered.


You Will:

  • Be trained in creating new campaigns, ad groups, ads to help within Google Ads & Microsoft Ads.
  • Create bid strategy and budgeting rules for Paid Search.
  • Monitor & implement optimizations on current campaigns.
  • Deliver reporting and analysis for assigned clients and campaigns.
  • Foster relationships with the Search and Media experts across the company.
  • Define and implements best practices for Paid Search.
  • Work with the Search & Media team to holistically plan SEM
  • Help with Financial management of search engine relationships.

You Have:

  • A passion for & general understanding of digital media and the digital landscape.
  • 1+ year(s) with Google Ads / Microsoft Ads, especially paid search a plus.
  • Advanced English Proficiency (B2+ reading, writing, and conversation)
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel.
  • Have familiarity with the wider Google ads platform – Google Display network, Performance Max, Demand Gen
  • Familiarity with third party Search technology – Kenshoo, Marin, Doubleclick is a plus.
  • An analytical and curious mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while paying attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently yet seek help when needed.
  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving industry.
