The Back of House Supervisor at The Rec Room Brentwood is responsible for supporting the kitchen leadership in coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of kitchen operations, while maintaining high quality menu options and service levels. Responsibilities include leading kitchen staff to create and prepare menu items efficiently, ensuring safe and healthy food preparation and sanitation practices, training and coaching kitchen employees, reporting on repairs or maintenance required for kitchen appliances and equipment, assisting with line checks, cleaning duty rotation, and temperature logs, establishing, implementing, and communicating menu recipe requirements, maintaining accurate logs of food and beverage waste, and ensuring preparation and cooking stations are well-stocked.
Must have:
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • 3-5 years' restaurant kitchen experience
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Provincial Smart Serve certification (where applicable)
  • Ability to lead and direct a team
Good to have:
  • Post-Secondary in Culinary Arts or Hospitality
  • Experience in high volume food program

What you will do:

Back of House Supervisor – TRR

Wage - $20.00

Our Back of House (BOH) Supervisors are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. The BOH Supervisor is responsible for supporting the kitchen leadership in coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of kitchen operations, while maintaining high quality menu options and service levels. In this role, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Leading kitchen staff to create and prepare menu items in an efficient manner 

  • Supporting the kitchen with ensuring the safe and healthy preparation of meals and sanitation techniques at all times to avoid cross-contamination and the spoiling of food and beverages  

  • Training and coaching of kitchen employees 

  • Reporting on any repairs or maintenance required for kitchen appliances and equipment 

  • Assisting in completion of all line checks, cleaning duty rotation, and temperature logs 

  • Establishing, implementing and communicating menu recipe requirements 

  • Maintaining accurate log of food and beverage waste 

  • Ensuring preparation and cooking stations are well stocked 

 

Qualifications: 

This may be a perfect fit for you if:  

  • You have a required Secondary School Diploma 

  • You have 3-5 years' restaurant kitchen experience 

  • You have a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends 

  • You have a Post-Secondary in Culinary Arts or Hospitality (preferred)  

  • You have experience in high volume food program (preferred) 

  • You have a provincial Smart Serve certification where applicable 

  • You have a demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team
