Job Description

This role involves leading and managing Data Center Migration projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. Responsibilities include planning and executing application and database migrations, overseeing application and database buildouts, developing and implementing Change Management strategies, collaborating with teams for coordination, creating and executing release plans, coordinating with stakeholders, communicating project status, maintaining detailed runbooks, ensuring compliance, conducting post-migration reviews, and staying informed about relevant technologies. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless transitions and minimizing downtime.

Our challenge We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Project Manager to oversee and coordinate complex technology projects, specifically focusing on Change Management processes and Data Center Migrations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale IT migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions, minimal downtime, and adherence to change policies. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $115k - $120k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage end-to-end Data Center Migration projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Plan and execute a large portfolio of application and database migrations from one Data Center to another.
  • Oversee application and database buildout on Data Centers and facilitate their migration.
  • Develop and implement Change Management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with Development, QA, and Infrastructure teams to coordinate changes.
  • Create and execute release planning and strategy.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to plan and facilitate project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders regarding project status and risks.
  • Build, update, and maintain detailed runbooks for migrations and ongoing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Change Management policies and best practices.
  • Conduct post-migration reviews and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Data Centers and related technologies.
  • Stay informed about general applications and databases, including Java, .NET-based applications, RDBMS, Snowflake, DB2, SQL Server.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in IT projects, specifically Data Center Migration and Change Management.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Data Centers and associated technologies.
  • Good understanding of applications and databases, including Java, .NET, RDBMS, Snowflake, DB2, and SQL Server.
  • Expertise in managing large application and database migration portfolios.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Relevant certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) are preferred.
