Job Description

As a Circuit Engineer at NVIDIA's Silicon Solutions team, you'll be responsible for circuit validation to optimize chip designs for consumer, professional, server, mobile, and automotive solutions. Key responsibilities include architecting next-generation product features for performance and power optimization, driving new feature initiatives across multiple business units, prototyping and fine-tuning features on pre-production silicon, building pre- and post-silicon methodologies for characterization, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring products to market. You will also design tools to automate characterization and data analysis. The role requires expertise in circuit design, silicon bring-up, and PPA (Power, Performance, Area).
Must have:
  • MS in EE/CE/Systems Engineering
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Silicon perf, power, timing closure expertise
  • Circuit design & analysis knowledge
  • Hands-on silicon bring-up experience
  • PPA experience (Pre/Post-Silicon)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Statistical methods for data analysis
  • Substrate & power supply noise analysis
  • Python, C/C++ programming

As part of the Silicon Solutions team at NVIDIA, you will be responsible for circuit validation to optimize NVIDIA's chips design into groundbreaking consumer, professional, server, mobile, and automotive solutions.

What you will be doing:

  • Architect essential next generation product features that are vital for performance, power optimization and management techniques all the way from feature definition to production; working with multi-functional teams.

  • Driving new feature initiatives across multiple business units, while translating noise aware circuits and performance requirements to hardware features, design requirements, silicon characterization needs and test requirements. Creating new system features and methodologies.

  • Prototype and fine-tune the features on pre-production silicon fabricated using state-of-the-art processes for circuit, speed, performance, power, yield and quality to define the world’s fastest products.

  • Build pre and post-silicon methodologies to characterize Analog, digital and Mixed Signal circuits, silicon features, correlate silicon behavior with simulations, and provide design feedback.

  • Work alongside system architects, chip and board designers, software/firmware engineers, process/reliability engineers, ATE engineers, product managers, and operations, in a multifaceted, high-energy work environment to bring industry-defining products to market.

  • Designing tools to automate characterization, data collection, test case execution, and results analysis.

What we need to see:

  • MS in EE, CE, Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of experience in a related hardware engineering position, particular exposed/related to silicon perf, power, timing closure, reliability, etc..

  • Exposure to critical path analysis, process technologies, transistor/device physics, silicon reliability and aging mechanisms.

  • Exposure to circuit design and analysis, computer architecture, BIOS, drivers, and software applications.

  • Hands-on experience with silicon bringup, frequency and power characterization, PPA in PreSilicon or PostSilicon phases, Tester to System correlation, lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, DAQ).

  • Familiarity with Python, C/C++, tool and script development, Windows and Linux OS is a plus.

  • Excellent problem solving, collaborative, and interpersonal skills. Experience working with offshore teams preferred.
