Job Description

The Cloud Technical Solutions Developer, AI/ML role at Google Cloud involves troubleshooting technical problems for customers, encompassing debugging, networking, system administration, documentation updates, and coding/scripting. This customer-facing role requires fluent English and Mandarin communication. Responsibilities include resolving production deployment issues, understanding Google Cloud's architecture, acting as a consultant for internal stakeholders, providing 24/7 support (including weekends), advocating for customer needs with internal teams, and improving products. The ideal candidate possesses 6+ years of experience in coding (Java, C++, Python, etc.), experience with web tech, data/big data, systems admin, machine learning, or other relevant areas, and strong customer troubleshooting skills.
Must have:
  • 6+ years coding experience (Java, Python etc.)
  • 6+ years experience in 2+ areas (Web Tech, Data/Big Data, etc.)
  • Fluent English and Mandarin
  • Customer issue troubleshooting & problem-solving
  • Experience with GCP services (preferred)
Good to have:
  • Kernel debugging
  • Performance analysis of containerized systems
  • Debugging complex workload issues
  • Understanding of basic web technologies (HTTP, HTML, etc.)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience reading code in a general purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go or JavaScript, etc.) or in system design
  • 6 years of experience with 2 or more of the following: Web Tech, Data/Big Data, Systems Admin, Machine Learning, Networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, SAP.
  • 6 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customers' needs, and triaging technical issues.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently for this customer-facing role that requires interactions with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with any public cloud (GCP) services and infrastructure.
  • Experience in kernel debugging, performance analysis of containerized systems, and debugging complex workload issues across, multi-node environments.
  • Understanding of basic web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP, etc.).

You will be required to work in a Shift Pattern or non-standard work hours as required. This may include weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers on their production deployments to resolve issues and achieve product readiness, availability, and scale.
  • Develop an understanding of Google Cloud's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining the root cause for customer-reported issues, building tools, and diagnosis.
  • Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in developing, business and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
  • Work as part of a team of consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support. This will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours/shifts, and may include weekend work.
  • Understand customer issues, advocate for their needs with internal teams, including product and developing teams, to find ways to improve the product, and drive production.
