We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer. This role will be based in Sunrise, FL, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As an Employee Benefits Specialist, you will provide comprehensive support in managing employee benefits, including assisting with coverage verification, eligibility issues, and new hire onboarding. You will also facilitate open enrollment processes, address employee inquiries regarding benefits and payroll deductions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance overall employee experience. Additionally, you will play a key role in ongoing support, claims assistance, and the management of COBRA and spending accounts.
We will count on you to:
- Provide ongoing support liaising between the client, carrier and Mercer for a multitude of applications and services
- Interact with the benefits administration tools in moving forward all functions of employee benefit transactions
- Respond to employee questions on their health and welfare plans both strategic and transactional in nature
- Performing ongoing open enrollment with new hires and answering ongoing questions from employees related to the health and welfare plans
What you need to have:
- 3-5 years of experience administering benefits
- Familiar with benefit administration technology, new hire enrollment and data transfer between client and insurers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Excel and working knowledge of the MS Office suite
