Job Description

The Global Payroll Analyst is responsible for managing and supporting the global payroll process, specifically for the EMEA region. This involves managing payroll processing, ensuring compliance, and improving payroll procedures. The role requires establishing relationships with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including benefits and withholdings. Responsibilities include payroll processing, employee inquiries, third-party vendor management, payroll reconciliation, and year-end activities. The ideal candidate will manage vendors and employees while processing payroll globally, and communicate effectively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • 3+ years' experience in global payroll processing in a European country.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g. lookups, Pivot tables).
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and best practices.
  • Excellent management and organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll-related state, legal, tax, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to interface and establish rapport with all levels of the organization including executive team members.
  • Self - starter, proactive approach, self- learner, time management skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience processing payroll in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Spain.
  • Experience with Workday (or equivalent ERP), ADP Celergo payroll vendors.
  • A proactive, high-energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and data-driven organization.
  • Entrepreneurial, someone who wants to build out the global payroll process.
  • BS degree or equivalent. Chartered Accountant or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

Job Description Summary:

The Global Payroll Analyst position is responsible for managing and supporting our global payroll process for our payrolls in the EMEA region. The ideal candidate will have excellent payroll management skills and implementing payroll process improvements and strong project management skills to coordinate the planning, implementation, and administration of programs.

This role will require establishing an excellent working relationship with our payroll vendors to develop, adjust, and enhance payroll systems and procedures due to changes in tax laws, regulations, and our pay policies/compensation initiatives. This position will foster relationships with internal stakeholders including People Operations, Benefits, Total Rewards, Tax, Legal, Finance, IT, as well as with our external vendors.

This role is ideally suited for someone with the ability to manage vendors and employees as they process payroll globally, influence and effectively communicate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, growing, and ever-changing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Payroll & Benefits: Manage International payroll processing for assigned jurisdictions, compliance, and work closely with the payroll vendor and accountants on various accounting activities. 

  • Payroll Processing & Controls: Ensure proper reviews are in place for payroll output from payroll vendor. This includes ensuring all payroll inputs are accurately captured. Includes but not limited to performing payroll analysis such as total gross payroll to net payment, the average paid per headcount by country, and comparison of analysis to the prior period, etc.

  • Employee experience: Respond to employee inquiries and serve as a liaison between employee and third-party providers; educate and counsel employees on how to use self-service tools and address issues that fall outside the scope of self-service, including leaves of absence, benefits changes, hourly time tracking and overtime.

  • Being diligent and complaint to the payroll process manual / procedures.

  • Third parties: Manage third-party vendors (including international payroll providers) and the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of all payroll related reports, including governmental and regulatory filings.

  • Cross-functional partnerships: Work with internal partners in Human Resources/ Recruiting/ Strategic Finance/ Legal to facilitate and improve the payroll processes, including benefits and withholdings (e.g., leave of absence, employee benefits, retirement and leave balances, flexible spending accounts, etc.)

  • Payroll Reconciliation and Validation: Review all payroll reporting and ensure accurate and timely filing with appropriate government authorities.

  • Year-End: Manage the annual preparation and delivery of yearly forms as required within the jurisdictions

  • Ad hoc Payroll support as an when needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience of processing global payroll in any European country.

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g. lookups, Pivot tables).

  • Process oriented: Strong understanding of payroll processes and best practices.

  • Excellent management and organizational skills.

  • Technical skills: thorough knowledge of payroll-related state, legal, tax, and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (would be seen as advantage):

  • Experience processing payroll in any of the following countries is a plus: France, Germany, Italy Netherlands and Spain.

Annual salary range for this position is between €22,068.00 - €40,983.00 gross before taxes.

Salary range applies only to candidates in Lithuania

Salary offer for the candidate is determined based on the predefined salary ranges for the position and depends on the level of competence and experience of the candidate.
