We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our Cloud Engineering team in Bangalore, India, reporting to the senior manager of Software Engineering. You will be a part of the Cloud team working on cutting edge technologies. You will manage a team of engineers and work closely with the rest of the engineering organization and will be responsible for the implementation of the enhancements needed in our Infoblox products to integrate smoothly with the public cloud offering like Azure, Amazon, or Google Cloud. These enhancements enable the Infoblox product to spin-up into these clouds, collect IPAM and networking information, and deliver DNS service.

You’re the ideal candidate if you are a technically driven manager who has experience working with large, distributed teams, and driving solutions and deliveries on schedule and with quality. 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide technical direction to the engineers comprising of developers and leads
  • Participate in architecture creation to address long-term design objectives
  • Provide technical leadership for product features, taking them from conception to delivery
  • Generate software designs and scope effort for new product features. Operate in a very agile environment
  • Create software developed using Python and Perl and C/C++ for a Linux based operating system
  • Mentor, guide and provide design and code reviews for other engineers
  • Work with QA to help define effective test strategies and techniques
  • Work with Sustaining Engineering and Customer Technical Support to diagnose and resolve challenging field issues
  • Provide design and code reviews for other engineers

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 2+ years of managing the software development team
  • Strong Python, Perl, C/C++ programming skills, with minimum experience with different virtualization environments including VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix
  • Experience working with OpenStack Private Cloud environment
  • Experience working with Azure, Amazon or Google cloud environment
  • Experience in networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience of developing networking software is important; Knowledge of network management and SNMP.
  • Proven track record of shipping quality software products on time
  • Strong problem analysis and diagnostic capabilities
  • Ability to lead small teams or work independently as needed

What success looks like:   

 After six months, you will…

  • Complete onboarding by demonstrating team management by handling customer escalations and feature releases shipping quality software products on time
  • Drive customer escalations meetings with support team, Customers to ensure Customer issues are addressed with high priority
  • Lead Scrum meetings and driving stories to completion

After about a year, you will…

  • Become an expert in team management, handling customer escalations and feature releases as per plan shipping quality software products on time
  • Apply coding best practices and provide in depth-reviews on the team’s pull requests
  • Drive customer escalations meetings with support team, Customers to ensure Customer issues are addressed with high priority
  • Lead Scrum meetings and driving stories to completion
  • Be a thought leader in one or more features/modules of NIOS product, driving development and mentoring teammates in those domain
