The role of office custodian will be responsible for the following tasks:
Wipe down all desk surfaces (including telephones), desk fixtures, file cabinets and other work surfaces in offices, boardrooms and common areas.
Clean and disinfect restrooms – wipe down toilet bowls and basins, urinals and the tiles surrounding these areas to ensure water marks, stains and spillage is cleaned. Clean sinks and countertops, mirrors, door handles (entry door and doors to each stall), light switches and spot clean anywhere there may be a stain or mark, monitor garbage and discard as required. The restrooms should be spot checked several times throughout the day.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchenettes by clearing sink of dirty dishes, clean countertops and sink, put away clean dishes, wipe down cupboards, ensure there is an adequate supply of paper towel and dish soap, and monitor garbage and discard as required. These areas should be spot checked several times throughout the day.
Ensure staff kitchen is maintained. Wipe down countertops and cupboards, clear sink of dirty dishes, put clean dishes away, load/unload dishwasher, ensure paper products, dish and hand soap supplies are maintained, clean microwave, wipe down refrigerator(s) doors and handles, wipe down tables, monitor garbage and discard as required, clean spills as required.
Vacuum offices, boardrooms, corridors and common areas.
Sweep and mop tiled areas throughout the office (including: foyer, kitchen, kitchenettes, basement level, restrooms, and other areas as required).
Clean glass doors at the main entrance, and spot clean any interior glass as required.
Wipe down light switches and door handles.
Gather garbage and remove it from the general office area.
Perform general or deep cleanings within the office that may include, but not limited to the following tasks: wipe down chair backs in offices, common areas and in boardrooms; clean interior glass at office entrances, glass doors to work areas, or other glass surfaces; wipe down baseboards in the foyer or in common areas, and boardrooms; and spot clean office carpeting or furniture using a steam cleaner.
Ad hoc tasks that will enhance the effectiveness of the office or team.
Monitor and maintain supplies – this includes, but not limited to: taking stock of supplies, requesting supplies, monitoring and replenishing the supplies (paper products, hand soap, dish soap, air fresheners, hand sanitizers/disinfectant wipes) used across the office but in particular those in the restrooms and kitchen/kitchenettes.

Proven ability to work with chemicals associated with office/industrial cleaning routines and requirements. This may include, but not limited to: using standard cleaning agents, proper and safe procedure to mix chemicals, ability to follow guidelines set out for use of chemicals by hand or in machinery
Adaptable and able to work within tight deadlines, demonstrating flexibility
Flexible to work beyond the standard working hours (if required)
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Minimum years experience required
2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role or custodial role in a corporate office
Secondary school diploma

This position may require hours to be adjusted resulting in day time shifts, so the custodian team can be more effective in meeting the needs of the business.
