About the Role 
As the Head of Construction & Development at Flow, you will lead construction management for Flow's portfolio, ensuring alignment with financing structures and company strategy. Oversee the entire construction process, from planning and budgeting to bidding and execution. Attend meetings, provide development updates, and collaborate with engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams. With a commitment to quality standards, safety, and timely project completion, your role will be instrumental in shaping the future of Flow's developments.

Responsibilities

    • Serve as an owner’s representative in all communication with development-related third parties and local municipalities.
    • Work closely with acquisitions and asset management teams to understand financing structures and related obligations.
    • Ensure development plans cohere with broader company strategy and brand design direction.
    • Attend all municipal meetings and legal proceedings related to active development projects. 
    • Provide regular development updates to leadership; surface challenges quickly and propose solutions.
    • Build comprehensive knowledge and understanding of construction contracts, specifications, civil plans, architectural plans, and scopes of work.
    • Collaborate with engineers and architects to create an accurate budget and timeframe in which the project can be created.
    • Coordinate plans and budgets with finance, operations, and design teams.
    • Assist in the value engineering of all construction products and procedures.
    • Complete projects on time, within budget, and at or above company quality standards.
    • Review and approve procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources.
    • Ensure all required permits, licenses, and/or certificates are obtained in a timely manner.
    • Establish and enforce construction quality and safety standards.
    • Track variance spend and strategize with department managers to identify and correct recurring or preventable problems.
    • Provide regular project updates to leadership and other key stakeholders.

Ideal Background

    • 10+ years’ experience in on-site Construction Management
    • 5+ years’ experience working directly with Executives to understand brand design direction 
    • 5+ years’ experience managing both internal and external project management teams preferred
    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required
    • Excellent ability to interpret, translate, and implement design direction
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in varying stages of development, design, and construction
    • Excellent price negotiation skills
    • Best-in-class comprehension of construction documents
    • Deep understanding of contract terms and related legal jargon
    • Strong budgeting and analytical skill
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
