Microsoft's OneDrive and SharePoint team is rapidly growing services at the center of Microsoft's cloud, interacting with almost every part of Microsoft. You would be a part of a team that is fundamentally changing the way that millions of people use their devices and interact with the most important content for their home, work, and school.  

  

We are looking for Principal Software Engineer - Full Stack who loves creating and building things that delight and protect our customers. You will be working with a team of amazing engineers, PMs, and designers, and work closely with other teams across Microsoft to deliver large scale, distributed architectures, and features to meet OneDrive and SharePoint's core service needs.  

  

As an Principal Software Engineer - Full Stack in our team, you will contribute to and help shape the vibrant, inclusive engineering culture of OneDrive & SharePointYou will be expected to do deep, data-driven, collaborative design for additions and changes to our productsYou will write clean, efficient code and comprehensive testsYou will build coverage with metrics and telemetry to ensure we understand exactly what is happening with our services at all timesAnd you will deliver features that will be used by hundreds of millions of customers around the world.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in delivering and interacting with REST API’s and web services across multiple systems.
  • Experience with cloud-scale services and server/service management features.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with client-side frameworks and applications.  
  • Experience with building cloud-scale infrastructure components.  
  • Experience with building AI product features.  
  • Experience in cloud scale distributed design and patterns.  
  • Delivering projects that include multiple components spanning multiple engineering teams across organizations. 
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt new methodologies to our service. 

Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • You will work in large-scale distributed systems that are critical for customers around the world
  • You will design and deliver services that manage internet-scale data stores, enable best-in-the-world file and site browsing and editing performance, or add innovative features to how people manage and interact with their data
  • You will work on the Agreements product that brings document intelligence to the contracts management space while providing a secure, compliance & reliable way to create, store and manage the business processes for contracts within the M365 compliance boundary.
  • You will be building Full stack experiences that need to be highly reliable and performant to accelerate customer adoption.
