Job Description

The Product Owner plays the technical product manager role within the R&D department, driving product feature definition, planning, and ensuring commitment to team deliverables. This role is responsible for accepting work items completed by the agile team. Key responsibilities include contributing to program vision and roadmap, preparing release planning, refining program backlogs, defining iterations and stories, managing story flow, identifying system gaps, coordinating with other product owners, managing deliverables, facilitating inter-team dependencies, and participating in demos and retrospectives. The Product Owner may also be involved in validating the system with the client.
Must have:
  • Experience in electrical/mechanical part/system development.
  • Good communication skills, cross-functional.

Product Owner
Product Owner plays the technical product manager in R&D. Drive for the product feature define and planning and commitment on the team deliverables, Responsible for acceptance of the work items created by agile team.

Your role:

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Contributes to and reviews program vision, roadmap and content presentations
• Prepares and participates in release planning, contributes to program increment planning, program backlog refinement, and preparation / prioritization of portfolio backlogs to continuously synthesize into program backlog and then to team backlog. Drafts the team’s specific objectives for the program increment
• Defines iterations and stories for the team(s). Builds, edits, reviews and reprioritizes the team(s) backlog coordinating dependencies with other POs
• Has the primary responsibility for maintaining the story flow, possibly embedded in the agile team(s). Defines stories and provides input for user story details and priorities, establishes story acceptance criteria, accepts stories into the baseline / the final iteration plan. Supports team(s) with their story estimates and sequencing. Facilitates and leads sprint planning and grooming sessions
• May define functional and non-functional requirements as well as the user interface. Identifies gaps between current system and client/market needs
• Coordinates with other product owners on content dependencies
• Manages content deliverables and dependencies to external suppliers
• Facilitates inter-team dependencies in the respective sprints
• Participates in team demo and retrospectives. Works with other product owners to produce the system demo, delivers system demo for his scope to the business owner and product management team
• May ensure validation of the system with the client

You're the right fit if:

a) Education: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering bachelor's degree or related background, master is preferred
b) Experience: 5+ years working experience in the electrical / mechanical part/
system development and release to market, upstream marketing
d) Competency and Skills
- Independent decision making
- Medium level product and marketing knowledge
- Good communication skills cross functional
- Good English speaking and writing
