Job Description

The Regional Operations Manager for Trust and Safety Compute at Google will lead the resolution of policy-related issues for Play and Android operations, ensuring a safe app experience. This role involves managing sensitive escalations, driving process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Play Partnerships, Policy, Operations, Engineering, Product, Government Affairs, and Legal), and representing the region to gather stakeholder feedback. Responsibilities include developing long-term prevention strategies, conducting policy education for developers, and enhancing Google Play's brand reputation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills and fluency in at least one of the following languages: Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Mandarin, and English. The Trust and Safety Compute team prioritizes user experience and developer success.
Must have:
  • 4+ years experience in Trust & Safety or related fields
  • Lead policy issue resolutions
  • Manage escalations and drive process improvements
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Experience crafting compelling narratives
  • Presentation skills to senior executives
  • Fluency in Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, or Mandarin

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in Trust and Safety, Policy, Business Operations, Business Strategy, Content Moderations, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in crafting compelling narratives intended to influence internal and external stakeholders, as well as presenting to senior executives in the organization.
  • Ability to solve complex operational or policy problems, working closely with various cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate in Korean, Japanese, or Vietnamese, Mandarin and English fluently to support policy advisory and resolution in this region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the resolutions of various policy related issues for Trust and Safety Play and Android Operations in the region to ensure a safe app experience.
  • Manage sensitive escalations, and drive process improvement to mitigate the future risks, working with stakeholders across Play Partnerships, Policy, Operations, Engineering, Product, Government Affairs, and Legal teams.
  • Drive highly cross-functional projects collaborating with teams across various regions to land foundational improvement to our policies and enforcement processes.
  • Represent the region to solicit stakeholder feedback for Google Play Policies and Operations, identify emerging risks and build long-term prevention strategies.
  • Drive scalable policy education for developers in our region and consistently improve the brand and reputation of Google Play.
