Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with distributed systems concepts, data replication, consistency models, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy new Spanner features and enhancements. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to ensure quality software development.
- Architect and design scalable, reliable systems that meet the needs of Spanner's growing customer base. Make data decisions to optimize system performance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and develop innovative solutions to address customer issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues effectively.
- Stay abreast of the trends in cloud database technology and drive innovation within the Spanner team. Propose and implement new features that enhance Spanner's capabilities and differentiate it from participants.
