We are looking for an experienced professional to bridge the gap between art and technology, ensuring our games run smoothly and efficiently on all devices. As a Technical Artist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing assets, troubleshooting performance issues, and collaborating with various teams to maintain high visual standards without compromising performance. The position also requires you to be able to assist the programming team with engineering tasks. Requirements:

  • +5 years of experience in the gaming industry
  • Proven experience as a Technical Artist, preferably in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio demonstrating performance optimization skills
  • Proficiency in game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, and experience with profiling tools like PIX, RenderDoc, or similar
  • Experience in C++ programming
  • Solid understanding of art creation processes and the ability to work closely with artists to optimize assets.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, MaxScript, Lua, or MEL for tool development and automation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high visual standards while optimizing performance.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tools, and to learn and implement new optimization techniques.

Will be a plus:

  • Knowledge of Lua is preferred
  • A deep love for mobile games, especially in the free-to-play segment,
    and a desire to create high-quality, smooth gaming experiences.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Digital Art, Game Design, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, identify, and resolve performance bottlenecks in assets, shaders, and rendering pipelines to ensure smooth gameplay across all devices.
  • Optimize art assets to balance quality and performance, including textures, models, animations, and VFX.
  • Develop and maintain tools and scripts to assist artists in creating optimized content.
  • Work closely with artists, programmers, and designers to implement and refine performance best practices.
  • Use profiling tools to monitor and analyze game performance, providing actionable insights for optimization.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the art team on best practices for creating performance-efficient assets.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of performance guidelines, workflows, and optimization techniques.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and industry trends to continually improve performance optimization processes.
  • Assist the development team in various UI/UX related programming tasks.
