Job Summary:
As a Senior Environment Artist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, visually stunning environments for our video game projects. Working closely with the art director, Environment lead, game designers, and other artists, you will create visually appealing and immersive game environments that align with the artistic direction of the project. Your role will involve creating 3D models, textures, lighting, and other visual elements to bring the game environment to life. The ideal candidate is a well organized leader with a strong, hands-on background and proactive, self-starting attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Generate visually striking and immersive game environments in line with the project's artistic direction.
- Collaborate with art directors and other team members to understand and implement the overall vision for the game.
- Create high-quality 3D models of environmental assets, including landscapes, architecture, props, and other elements.
- Ensure models adhere to technical specifications and requirements while maintaining visual fidelity.
- Develop and apply textures to 3D models, considering factors like detail, realism, and optimization for performance.
- Ensure consistency in the visual style and quality of textures across the game environment.
- Set up lighting schemes to enhance the atmosphere and mood of the game environment.
- Collaborate with the lighting team to achieve desired visual effects and maintain consistency.
- Optimize 3D assets and textures to meet performance targets without sacrificing visual quality.
- Work closely with technical artists to implement efficient rendering techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game designers, level designers, animators, and other artists.
- Integrate environment assets seamlessly into the game, considering gameplay and narrative requirements.
- Actively participate in art reviews and critiques, providing constructive feedback to improve the overall quality of the game environment.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from team members and stakeholders.
- Create and maintain documentation for art assets, including style guides, technical specifications, and best practices.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, tools, and technologies related to environment art.
Requirements:
- Typically 6 to 8+years of 3D Art experience in the games industry.
- Has a passion for 3D environment art, set dressing, lighting, and texturing.
- Experience with Project Management tools (Jira, Confluence or Notion).
- Experience with Source Control software (Perforce).
- Expert technical experience working with Art tools and pipelines. (i.e. Maya, ZBrush, Speed Tree, Substance Sampler/Designer, World Machine/Gaea and Photoshop).
- An effective communicator in both verbal and written forms.

Base Salary: $100,956.45 - $154,460.25. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
