Job Description

The Team Leader role involves leading a team and managing the processing of unit movements, reporting deliverables to clients, and ensuring their timely and accurate delivery. Responsibilities include client reporting, team leadership, performance management, documentation, and ensuring unit movements are complete. The role requires adherence to business processes, staff engagement, quality processing, meeting deadlines, and continuous improvement. The candidate will also be required to build relationships and work within a diverse team. The team leader will also work with internal and external stakeholders such as fund managers and custodians. They will also have to maintain knowledge on the AML/KYC rules.
Must have:
  • 7+ years of Financial Services experience
  • 4+ years of Unit Registry experience
  • 1+ years of team leadership experience
  • Good knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Sound knowledge on the AML/KYC rules
  • Proficiency in English, written and verbal
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Role Purpose:

This varied and high paced role involves a combination of leading people and responsibility for the team’s processing of unit movements Applications, Redemptions, Transfers and Switches, providing reporting deliverables to key clients, and for delivering these requirements in high quality, timely and accurate manner.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivery of client reporting accurately & within SLA requirements.  Immediate escalation of any quality or timeliness issues to Head of Business Process Operations.

  • Team leadership, positive role model; meeting with the team members 1-1 on a regular basis

  • Timely completion of performance appraisals and performance management

  • Documenting User Guides

  • Maintaining documentation such as procedures and checklists

  • Ensuring that all unit movements are complete ahead of finalising reporting deliverables

  • Level of staff engagement/morale and delivery against agreed standards within the team

  • Quality and accuracy of processing

  • Meeting of all client deadlines

  • Process and service delivery improvement initiatives

  • Adherence to client business rules and compliance policies

  • Registry Management team

  • Payments and Rec’s team

  • CST

  • Clients-Fund managers

  • Clients – Custodians

  • External service providers

Knowledge and experience:

  • 7+ years Financial Services experience

  • 4+ years Unit Registry experience

  • 1+ years team leadership, demonstrated people leadership experience

  • Good knowledge of the financial services industry particularly funds management, custody and platforms

  • Sound knowledge on the AML/KYC rules is a must and requirements as per the AUSTRAC AML guidelines an advantage.

  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and stakeholders

  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
