PlayStation seeks a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to deliver systems for web, mobile, PS4, and PS5 experiences. Responsibilities include collaborating with software developers, defining specifications, driving technical solutions, managing the software development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment), and working with cross-functional teams. The TPM will also track progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to leadership. Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential, along with experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and proficiency with project management tools. The role involves leading end-to-end implementations, developing program management standards, and creating project documentation.
Must have:
  • 3-5 years program management experience
  • Software development lifecycle understanding
  • Proficiency in project management tools
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent
Good to have:
  • Experience with distributed global teams
  • Full-stack application delivery experience
  • Prior experience as Software or QA Engineer
  • Product Owner or Scrum Master experience

Technical Program Manager

PlayStation is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to deliver systems which enable our business to craft incredible experiences on web, mobile, PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5. Responsibilities:

  • Work with Software Developers to schedule development, write functional specifications / requirements, and drive decision-making to build amazing online experiences.

  • Act as lead in driving technical discussions and solutions to business and/or customer requirements.

  • Handle all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deployment, while collaborating with other internal teams and groups to bring projects from concept and design to delivery.

  • Participate in initial requirements reviews, analysis to assess technical complexity and resolve dependencies.

  • Provide and communicate ongoing insight into the progress, risks, schedules, and timelines to leadership teams.

  • Exercise your strong communication and collaboration skills to influence teams, understand dependencies, and resolve roadblocks.

  • Develop and lead end-to-end implementations toward technical standards as well as expected delivery dates.

  • Develop and implement standards for program management, continuously improving processes and methodologies.

  • Build and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience with a proven technical capability

  • 3-5+ years of professional program management experience

  • Firm understanding of software development lifecycle

  • Proficiency with project management and communication tools, such as Confluence, Google Suite, JIRA, Office Suite, Slack, or similar

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with partners across business, product, design, and server teams

  • Solid leadership skills and a passion for building world class consumer experiences.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies

  • Strong sense of ownership

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience working with highly distributed, global teams

  • Experience delivering full-stack applications

  • Prior experience as technical contributor such as Software or QA Engineer

  • Experience as Product Owner or Scrum Master

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$145,700 - $218,500 USD
