Summary

The Animation Shop Technician at Hong Kong Disneyland is responsible for the repair and maintenance of animatronic figures and related equipment. Responsibilities include repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor control systems; repairing or replacing figure skins; performing light sculpting and soldering; preparing skin substrates; troubleshooting and performing mechanical repairs; documenting maintenance and overhaul work using Maximo; and maintaining workshop cleanliness. The role requires experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems and familiarity with animatronics. Shift work, including weekends and holidays, is required.
Must have:
  • Repair pneumatic, hydraulic systems

  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Soldering, sculpting skills
  • Maximo work order entry
  • Mechanic's Certificate
Good to have:
  • Experience with flexible skins
  • English work order understanding

Responsibilities:

  • Repair of pneumatic, hydraulic, motor control systems, vehicles, machine tools and mechanical equipment
  • Repair or replace flexible skins of animation figures, perform light duty sculpting and soldering work, prepare the skin substrate and texture for paint work
  • During the overhaul of figures, it is required to clean, prep, disassemble, troubleshoot, perform mechanical repair work, reassemble, run tests and prepare for figure finishing work
  • Complete record/document for overhaul, maintenance and inspection work. Maximo work orders data entry (man hours/ completed works description/ consumed material)
  • Perform workshop housekeeping, and preventative maintenance to workshops equipment and machinery

Basic Qualifications:

  • Holds a Mechanic/ Animatronic Certificate, Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, motor control systems, vehicles, machine tools and mechanical equipment
  • Applicants with less relevant experience will be considered for Technician Trainee

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good mechanic skills and hands-on experience
  • And able to read and understand English work orders and procedures.
  • Computer literacy (in English MS Windows environment)

Our Theme Park and Resort Hotels operate 365 days a year. Candidates will need to work shifts according to a roster that is determined by the Company, including shifts on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
