You will contribute to the definition, analysis and optimisation of complex thermal and fluid systems across disciplines such as Air Systems, Liquid Systems (Fuel, Oil & Heat Management), Temperature Analysis, Thermo-Mechanical Analysis, and Fire, Ventilation and Drainage (FV&D). Using advanced thermofluid modelling, heat transfer analysis, and thermo-mechanical techniques, you will help define and validate the performance of critical systems within our gas turbine engines, ensuring optimal efficiency, reliability and safety.

This role plays a key part in supporting new product introduction, capability acquisition, and long-term in-service support through rigorous system modelling, integration, and verification and validation activities.

You will engage across the business to deliver system-level trade studies, develop modelling strategies, and support certification and in-service activities. The role offers excellent development in thermofluids, temperature modelling and cross-disciplinary system integration, with access to world-class tools and expert networks.

What We Offer

We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. As a minimum, we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What You Will Be Doing

With this attractive opportunity, you will get a chance to:

  • Define system, sub-system and component requirements for thermofluid, temperature and thermo-mechanical analysis.
  • Develop and evaluate concepts using analytical methods to support system-level design trades and architecture selection.
  • Perform modelling, simulation and verification at component and system level across the product lifecycle.
  • Plan and conduct validation activities including test specification, model calibration and uncertainty quantification.

  • Apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Demonstrate proactive ownership, high self-motivation, and strong customer focus.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate confidently with peers and technical leaders.
  • Ideally have experience in thermal, mechanical, or fluid systems, and be working toward Chartered status with a relevant professional body.

We are an equal opportunities employer. We’re committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives which are crucial to innovation and problem solving.
