We are Fatshark

We are a critically acclaimed Swedish game development studio with about 180 experienced and skilled employees. We are most well-known for developing the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

We have grown quite a bit over the last few years and are almost two-hundred “Sharks” now, but we still embrace the same values that we started with. The role

As an Experienced/Senior UI Artist at Fatshark, you will be the driving force behind shaping the visual experience of our upcoming fantasy game world. You will collaborate closely with UX designers and Art Direction to create unique, beautiful, and player-centric user interfaces. You will have full ownership of the UI style, setting up style guides, and implementing your ideas into the game.

    What you'll do

    • Lead the UI design work and establish the visual art style in collaboration with the Art Director
    • Work closely with UX designers to translate prototypes and wireframes into final designs
    • Apply graphic design principles to create visually compelling and cohesive designs
    • Produce high-quality 2D art assets that support the player experience and enhance the game world
    • Implement design ideas into the game engine (Unreal 5)
    • Follow up the work and communicate with the team and directors to iterate and refine designs throughout the project lifecycle

    Required qualifications

    • Previous work experience as a UI Artist in a professional environment
    • Proven game development production experience
    • Strong understanding of graphic design principles and the ability to apply them to UI design
    • Excellent skills in producing high-quality 2D art for user interfaces (in Photoshop or similar software)
    • Ability to work independently within a larger team, solving problems and driving your work forward
    • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

    Bonus qualifications

    • Experience working in Unreal 5
    • Experience in UI animation and 2D visual effects
    • Technical and detail-oriented mindset with a strong interest in game design

    Application details

    We are following the policy of working 4 days in the office per week, with 1 day option to work from home. The onboarding is being done fully in the office.

    We create unique game experiences with titles such as Lead and Gold, Krater, Bloodsports.tv, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide & Warhammer: Vermintide 2, as well as our upcoming game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
