Paradox’s User Research team does user experience research for all our products, both developed in-house and published by Paradox. As a User Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of research activities and supporting the team in their activities. Our current UR team consists of six researchers.
We expect you to be able to identify the root question(s) and provide relevant insights that will support the decision-making of our game developers. You will collaborate with UX designers, game designers, data analysts and studio leaders to champion UX research that connects with our player base and addresses the most crucial design challenges we may face. Your work will be critical in helping us understand the needs and behaviours of our users.
You will be expected to take an active role in developing our methodology, testing environment, and help us build one of the best User Research teams in the industry.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with the team and our stakeholders to iteratively improve our processes for collecting, analyzing and presenting research data
Conduct user research on a variety of Paradox games and products
Create research plans together with the development teams
Choose the methods that will help game teams the most - user studies, focus groups, surveys, user review analyses, etc.
Communicate actionable insights to game teams and other stakeholders at Paradox Interactive
Requirements
At least 4 years of experience in user research, and 2 years as a mid-level (or higher) games user researcher
Experience with a wide range of qualitative research methodologies such as usability studies, interviews etc.
Experience with game development or other interactive media fields
Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English)
Comfortable coordinating clients, other researchers, and participants simultaneously under tight timelines when conducting research
Strong personal interest in the gaming industry and market trends
On a personal level you’re passionate about helping others succeed. You find communication with people of different professions (game design, production, marketing) inspiring and you have a strong sense of self-leadership. You enjoy the balancing act between conducting sound research and delivering objective, actionable results with tight time-frames, and don’t mind challenging established views.
