About the role

We are looking for a Lead Narrative Designer who will take full charge of the game's story and lead a team of writers doing so.

You will work closely with writers, artists, game designers and others to create immersive and entertaining experiences for players. You will define the game's story, narrative frameworks and quality standards. 
You  understand and promote the narrative identity of the universe and the the narrative experience throughout all aspects of the game. 
You will create character stories, quests and narrative driven content based on the world settings. You will also maintain a holistic view of the project, continuously supporting your colleagues ant the team to succeed in it's objectives.

Objectives and tasks for this position:

Primary:

• Take full charge of the game story
• Define narrative frameworks and quality standards
• Collaborate closely with writers, artists, game designers and others to create an engaging and immersive entertainment experience for players
• Understand and promote the narrative identity of the universe as well as the narrative experience in all aspects of the game
• Create new character stories based on the world settings
• Designing quests and narrative-driven content
• Maintain a holistic view of the project, always supporting colleagues and working to help the team succeed in its objectives
• Creating and maintaining story/narrative design documentation

Secondary:

• Continually review the narrative design processes to identify potential improvements
• Work with game designers to build strong narrative context for various game mechanics - abilities, puzzles, combat etc
• Implement visual and environment storytelling in close collaboration with artists
• Implement world and location storytelling in various areas of the game
• Ensure items, objects and locations etc in the game world all have a logical and immersive narrative context
• Collaborate, receive feedback, and iterate towards the highest quality product

Requirements 

• An excellent understanding of narrative systems and structures.
• Strong understanding of narrative-related pipelines (VO, cinematics, audio etc.)
• Experience working with voice actors, and VO recording sessions
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate at a high level professionally in English
• Passionate about playing and making games.
• Knowledge of narrative design and script writing tools (such as Final Draft, Inkle, Twine, etc.).
• 5 or more years of professional experience working as a narrative designer or in an equivalent role in the video games industry
• Have led significant portions of the narrative design and content production for at least one game title or shipped narrative product
• Genuine passion for storytelling
