The 3D Technical Graphic Designer will be at the forefront of innovation, crafting concepts that redefine transportation systems. Must have:
  • Post-secondary degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience.
  • Strong portfolio of 3D graphics work.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD tools.
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent eye for detail and design trends.
Good to have:
  • Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry

Purpose & Need

3D designers are at the forefront of innovation, crafting concepts that are redefining transportation systems. 3D renderings help engineering ideas come to life and serve as a clear and efficient visual reference point for cross-disciplinary collaboration. The person in this position will report to our Graphics Manager and will support our Marketing Group at-large with the development of technical and 3D graphics (for both PGA and our clients). Our firm is growing quickly and expanding into new service areas with visual support needs beyond our standard marketing needs. Interested in growing in new directions? What You'll Do

  • Develop compelling project-related graphics that clearly inform clients and the public about community projects 
  • Work closely with both marketing and technical staff to create photorealistic 3D models/renderings and typical sections to be used in proposals, presentations, and public meetings 
  • Take existing 2D models and apply photorealistic textures and lighting to create 3D concepts 
  • Produce 3D animation and flythrough videos with the incorporation of drone footage to illustrate project concepts and maps 
  • Translate complex technical information to high quality illustrations and infographics that are easy to understand 
  • Prioritize skill development and stay current on design styles and advancing technologies 
  • Support PGA’s high aesthetic standards and promote adherence to the company’s style guide  
  • Support PGA’s Marketing Group with miscellaneous tasks as assigned, including peer review of other marketing materials 

What You'll Need

  • Post-secondary degree in CADD, Drafting, Graphic Design, Art, Engineering, or related field 
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience 
  • Strong portfolio of 3D and technical graphics work including finished designs, concept drawings a plus 
  • Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry preferred 
  • A strong passion for developing 3D graphics and exploring new technologies 

What You'll Bring

  • Advanced proficiency in CAD tools and programs (i.e MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, etc.) 
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software (i.e. Lumion, Lumen RT, Blender, InfraWorks, BeyondCAD, etc.) 
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)  
  • Excellent eye for detail and up to date in design trends and technology 
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Office Products 
  • Collaborative communication skills with the ability to understand and express ideas clearly with project managers 
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize assignments, manage time, and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards in all work efforts 
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks efficiently at the direction of PGA’s Leadership Team & Marketing Director 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on deadline-driven activities
