Job Description

Experian is seeking an Android Engineer II to join their mobile team. The role involves developing feature-rich, stable native Android applications, utilizing the latest technologies. The engineer will collaborate with web and backend teams, reporting to the Sr. Software Development Manager. The responsibilities include developing and maintaining Android applications, ensuring UI designs align with guidelines, and staying informed about technology trends. The candidate will work in an Agile environment. The job offers flexible work arrangements, including remote work.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin.
  • Experience with the Android framework.
  • Background implementing MVVM architecture in Android applications.
  • Familiarity with third-party libraries such as RxJava.
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs with Android applications.
  • Proficiency in writing Kotlin code and Java.
  • Experience with large code bases and unit tests.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
  • Experience with a data warehouse like Snowflake.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience with offline storage and background processing.
  • Understanding how to mock API components.
  • Experience with a data warehouse like Redshift or Spark.

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in Android application development using primary Kotlin, but need to be familiar with Java.
  • Experience with the Android framework.
  • You have a background implementing MVVM architecture in Android applications.
  • Familiarity with third-party libraries such as RxJava, Dagger, and Retrofit.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs with Android applications.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment following the Agile methodology.
  • Understand Android UX and work with the design team to ensure UI designs are aligned with the current Android UI guidelines.
  • Proficient in writing Kotlin code for all new development, with experience working in Java.
  • Interest and Stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments.
  • Understand how to mock and provide end-to-end coverage for API components.
  • Have experience working with large code bases, working with a shared REST API library, and writing unit tests.
  • Can create rich user interactions using Jetpack components like navigation and transitions.
  • Experience with offline storage, background processing, threading, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
  • Experience with a data warehouse like Snowflake, Redshift, or Spark
