Brillio is a fast-growing digital technology service provider for Fortune 1000 companies. They are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI Developer to modernize their business intelligence ecosystem. This onsite role in Virginia Beach requires expertise in Power BI and data modeling. The developer will design scalable analytics solutions, implement BI best practices, and mentor junior developers during the transition from legacy platforms to modern self-service BI tools. Responsibilities include developing Power BI dashboards, collaborating with business units, architecting data models with Snowflake, partnering with data engineering teams, leading migration from legacy BI tools, driving BI governance, and mentoring junior developers.
Must have:
- 8+ years of BI development experience
- Deep expertise in Power BI
- Advanced data visualization techniques
- Strong SQL skills
- Dimensional data modeling expertise
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud platforms
- Proven track record leading BI initiatives
- Understanding of BI governance and performance optimization
- Excellent communication skills
Good to have:
- Experience with legacy BI tools (e.g., Solver)
- Experience with Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse
- Stakeholder engagement and delivery management

Job requirements
We are looking for a highly skilled and visionary Senior BI Developer to support and develop the modernization of our business intelligence ecosystem. This onsite role in Virginia Beach is ideal for a BI expert with a strategic mindset and strong technical acumen in Power BI and data modelling. You will play a key role in designing scalable analytics solutions, driving BI best practices, and mentoring junior developers as we transition from legacy platforms to modern, self-service BI tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of Power BI dashboards and data visualizations aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with key business units (e.g., Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain) to translate complex requirements into maintainable BI solutions.
• Architect efficient, scalable data models using Snowflake and integrate them with the broader enterprise data architecture.
• Partner with Data Engineers, Architects, and Platform teams to ensure alignment of BI solutions with data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Drive the migration from legacy BI tools (e.g., Solver) to Power BI, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption.
• Lead initiatives around BI governance, report rationalization, performance tuning, and standardization across departments.
• Mentor junior BI developers, reviewing design approaches and ensuring high standards in code quality and project execution.
Qualifications:
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in BI development, with deep expertise in Power BI and advanced data visualization techniques.
• Strong SQL skills and expertise in dimensional data modeling, especially in large-scale, complex data environments.
• Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional BI initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and delivery management.
• Deep understanding of BI governance, metadata management, and performance optimization best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
