The Chief of Staff for the Autodesk Tandem Operations team will be responsible for supporting the go-to-market teams and strategic operations initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex technology programs, exceptional communication skills, and a strong understanding of business operations. The role is remote and requires working with globally distributed teams.

Autodesk is hiring a Chief of Staff for the Autodesk Tandem Operations team where you will have an impact on our go-to-market teams and strategic operations initiatives.

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Chief of Staff with a proven ability to build relationships, influence leaders and develop trusted partnerships to support the Tandem Operations team which includes Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success and Business Operations. Being successful in this role demands strategic execution, driving deep cross-team collaboration and flawless communication with a passion for helping our teams provide an exceptional experience for our customers.

You will report directly to the Senior Director of Business Operations in this remote position working with globally distributed teams. 

Responsibilities

Operations Leadership Coordination

  • Design, plan, facilitate, document and track deliverables for outcome-oriented leadership meetings, organization-wide events, and strategic planning sessions, with a focus on managing interdependencies

  • Assist in setting priorities and defining the team's yearly objectives and targets to measure the effectiveness of the organization, tracking and reporting to stakeholders on a consistent cadence

  • Define and implement standard operating procedures and structured systems to store and organize information that supports leadership priorities and organizational alignment. Maintaining and improving systems and tools such as Wiki, Airtable, Miro, Slack, Teams and PowerBI dashboards for stakeholder transparency

  • Develop strategic content in support of targeted initiatives including but not limited to presentation materials, communications, detailed reports, and other documentation

  • Optimize leadership bandwidth by ownership of special projects, decision prep, and strategic follow-ups

Strategic Execution & Program Management

  • Develop a deep understanding of the operation team’s strategy and vision with the ability to promote course corrections to the plan, communicate with stakeholders, and influence across the operations team

  • Manage multiple strategic and cross-functional programs of varying levels of complexity end-to-end by providing oversight, recording decisions, escalating impediments, mitigating risks, communicating with stakeholders, sharing performance metrics, and managing issues to resolution

  • Coordinate with internal teams, including go-to-market, product, finance and legal to ensure timely and successful execution of Operations initiatives

  • Manage stakeholder communications by serving as the primary point of contact on programs and initiatives within the team and across the organization ensuring visibility to our team and partners

  • Help lead the annual operations budget and planning process, ensuring alignment to overall objectives and strategy, managing the overall process and execution of OPEX spend across the Tandem organization

Communication & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Act as a force multiplier for Operations leadership by ensuring clarity of communication, alignment of goals, leadership cohesions and follow-through across teams

  • Drive the strategic communications process up and down the organization, providing narrative support, helping shape key messages, and gathering internal intelligence to support strategic decision making

  • Facilitate agreement, fact-based, data-driven decision-making between teams, functions, divisions, and partners ensuring internal stakeholders understand the “why” behind initiatives and targets

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration and alignment, identifying, proposing and driving continuous improvement to operational efficiency

  • Champion a spirit of collaboration and open communications by building relationships and work across teams to advance organizational goals and engender trust, including working with other Chiefs of Staff across the company, sharing and developing best practices and aggregating impacts to the business

 Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience managing large, complex technology programs across multiple teams

  • BA/BS in a Business Administration, Technology, Communications, or similar discipline

  • Exceptional communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering partnerships and guiding stakeholders both internally and externally at varying organizational levels and disciplines

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, exceptionally organized, execution-focused, accountable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and driven

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable strategies with an ability to streamline workflows, anticipate team needs and remove roadblocks

  • Well-known collaborator excelling at negotiation and consensus building with a demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives to drive efficiency, results, and alignment across teams

  • Self-motivated, high energy and results oriented with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and business initiatives, adept at driving multi-year plans for long-term growth

  • Prior experience on a geographically distributed team with willingness and ability to travel up to 20%

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $139,400 and $225,500. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
