The Content Management System (CMS) Administrator Lead will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s content management systems, ensuring a seamless user experience for internal teams and external customers. The role involves technical expertise, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of CMS platforms. Responsibilities include system administration, content management, troubleshooting & support, performance optimization, security & compliance, and collaboration & training. The candidate will manage and configure CMS platforms, ensure secure environments, implement and troubleshoot issues, and optimize CMS performance. They will also support content editors, manage templates, and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, as well as provide training and documentation.
Must have:
  • CMS administration experience (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Familiarity with website hosting and server-side technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL).
  • Experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems.

Position Overview:
 
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Content Management System (CMS) Administrator Lead to join our team. The CMS Administrator Lead will be responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s content management systems, ensuring a seamless user experience for both internal teams and external customers. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of CMS platforms.
 
This position will be located within a highly visible, customer-facing location that provides support to Executive level internal and external customers.  Most work will be completed on-site within the facility located in Redmond, WA.
 
 
What you’ll do as the Content Management System (CMS) Administrator Lead:

System Administration:
 
  • Manage, configure, and maintain CMS platforms such as [WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, Joomla, etc.].
  • Ensure CMS environments are running smoothly and securely.
  • Implement and troubleshoot any issues with CMS templates, themes, and plugins.
  • Monitor and perform regular system updates to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage user permissions and access controls for content creators, editors, and administrators.
Content Management:
 
  • Oversee the structure, organization, and workflow of digital content on the CMS platform.
  • Collaborate with content teams to ensure content is organized and optimized for web publishing.
  • Create, modify, and manage templates, layouts, and page structures to ensure a consistent brand experience.
  • Support content editors and marketers in the creation, publishing, and updating of content.
Troubleshooting & Support:
 
  • Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution for users experiencing problems with content uploads, site functionality, or CMS-related issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical support related to CMS usage and access.
Performance Optimization:
 
  • Optimize CMS for performance, ensuring fast loading times and a seamless user experience.
  • Conduct regular backups of CMS data and perform disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot website and server performance issues related to the CMS.
Security & Compliance:
 
  • Implement and maintain security measures, including updates to plugins, themes, and the CMS itself.
  • Regularly review CMS for vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Collaboration & Training:
 
  • Work closely with IT, marketing, and content teams to ensure the CMS aligns with organizational goals.
  • Provide training and guidance to content creators and users on best practices for utilizing the CMS.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to CMS procedures, workflows, and troubleshooting.
What you will bring to the team:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in CMS administration (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Sitecore, etc.).
  • Strong technical knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP (or relevant CMS scripting languages).
  • Familiarity with website hosting, domain management, and server-side technologies (e.g., Apache, Nginx).
  • Experience in optimizing CMS platforms for speed, scalability, and user experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills: 
 
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and website analytics tools.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems and integrations.
  • CTS Certification
 
Qualified candidates can expect a salary range of $105,000 - $155,000.
