Job Description

This role involves working with the Google Cloud Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to customers, helping them understand the platform, develop cloud solutions, and address technical challenges. Responsibilities include crafting go-to-market strategies, demonstrating product integrations, recommending migration strategies and architectures, and identifying/resolving technical blockers. The Customer Engineer will work closely with the Account team to close agreements and travel to customer sites and conferences as needed. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, and IT consulting, possessing strong technical skills and the ability to inspire customers to adopt Google Cloud solutions.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
6+ years experience in infrastructure modernization
Experience in cloud migration or data center migration
Lead IT discussions and design cloud adoption plans
Recommend migration strategies and cloud infrastructure

Good to have:

Master's degree in CS or related field
Experience with Kubernetes, RDBMS, NoSQL
Windows/Linux system administration
Understanding of virtualization and networking concepts
Understanding of AI and ML concepts

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience planning infrastructure modernization as a technical consultant, technical pre-sales engineer, or enterprise architect.
Experience in one of the following: cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, virtualization, application/servers assessment/discovery.
Experience in leading IT discussions and design cloud adoption plans.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience architecting and implementing solutions on any public cloud as an enterprise architect or IT infrastructure consultant.
Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem, Relational Database Management System and NOSQL databases.
Experience with Windows, Linux system administration, or Enterprise applications.
Understanding of virtualization and networking concepts (e.g., Linux, hypervisors, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks) and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.
Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.

Responsibilities

Inspire customers and peers to solve difficult problems with novel solutions, leveraging a sophisticated set of technical competences.
Manage the Go-to-Market strategy from a technical perspective. Craft the strategy to transform the customers, identify customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments. Help the Account team to close agreements from a technical perspective.
Recommend migration strategies, enterprise architectures, migration tools, and cloud infrastructure required to complete solutions using on Google Cloud.
Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events, as needed.
