The Director of Global Product Portfolio at tonies® will develop and execute the overall product portfolio strategy, encompassing existing and new offerings. This includes conducting market analysis, customer segmentation, and competitive assessments to identify portfolio gaps and strengths. The role involves defining and prioritizing portfolio investments, leading data-driven portfolio reviews to optimize product assortment, managing end-of-life SKUs, and collaborating with various departments (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance) and stakeholders across the organization. Data-informed decision-making and strategic advice to executive leadership are crucial aspects of this position.

You as part of tonies:

As the Director of tonies' global product portfolio, you will determine the optimal offering for consumers through careful product lifecycle coordination and product performance analysis. This function is uniquely positioned to interact regularly with a wide variety of departments including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance. This role offers you the opportunity to interface with global and regional stakeholders at various levels of the organisation, including Senior Leadership, and have direct impact on key business decisions and the company’s long-term strategy.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Portfolio Strategy and Development:

  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for the company’s product portfolio, encompassing both existing products and new offerings.

  • Conduct market analysis, customer segmentation, and competitive assessments to portfolio gaps and strengths..

  • Define and prioritize portfolio investments based on strategic fit, market potential, and financial viability.

  • Responsible for defining the business case, investment requirements & return on investment for new products.

Product Portfolio Performance Analysis

  • Lead data driven portfolio review to steer portfolio strategy on optimising the product assortment to meet local and global customer and financial metrics. Develop framework and KPIs to address incrementality and cannibalization. 

  • Determine end of life sku management and optimization strategies for sunsetting items with markets, finance and licensing teams. Determine the true profitability and commercial impact at the sku level.

  • Make data-informed decisions based on a sound understanding of organisational priorities, customer targets, financial and operational impact.

Stakeholder Management And Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and senior management on portfolio strategy, performance, and market dynamics.

  • Partner with central product management teams to evolve  operating models and local inputs into the process for more granular planning.

What we are looking for:
  • **Applicants must be currently located in Germany, France, UK or USA (East Coast).**

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in portfolio management for fast moving omnichannel CPG goods. 

  • Proven track record of driving portfolio efficiencies through identifying leading indicators and linking those insights with portfolio roadmap.

  • Prior background in product development, finance, supply chain operations 

  • Excellent collaboration skills aligning multiple stakeholders through influence versus authority.
