Job Description

As a Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for monthly management reporting, interim and year-end financial reporting, including reviewing engineering headcount, spend, and recoveries, and analysis of internal and external spend. You will also handle financial control and compliance, support engineering activities in Civil for value-for-money assessments, and coordinate inputs into the budget and forecasting process. This role involves working closely with engineering and Programme Management teams, as well as finance peers, gaining a good understanding of the key drivers, issues, and targets in Aerospace engineering, and providing support to the Business and Finance Leadership. This position is within the Engineering Technology & Safety finance team supporting the Civil Aerospace division.
Must have:
  • AAT/CIMA qualified or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and HFM, with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Experience in communicating to non-Finance personnel.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst - Aerospace Engineering Technology & Safety supporting primarily the Civil Aerospace division in our team in Derby.

You will sit within the team for Engineering Technology & Safety finance team which is responsible for delivering engineering solutions for our incredible Civil Aerospace portfolio. We invest over £1bn per year in engineering, focused on developing technologies, delivering product modifications to meet the needs of our customers and to enable us to deliver both value to our customers and our shareholders.

In particular, you will have the opportunity to work in the finance team which supports engineering and capital investment, providing management accounting support to our engineering functions.

You will work closely with the engineering and Programme Management teams across Civil Aerospace and wider Rolls-Royce, as well as with finance peers.

What you will be doing:

As a member of the finance team, you will:

  • Monthly management reporting, interim & year-end financial reporting including reviewing engineering headcount, spend, and recoveries and analysis of internal and external spend.
  • Financial control and compliance
  • Support engineering activities in Civil for value for money assessments and
  • Co-ordination of inputs into the budget and forecasting process, working with engineering to agree timetables, and requirements.
  • Gain a good understanding of the key drivers, issues and targets in Aerospace engineering and beyond.
  • Provide support to the Business and Finance Leadership
