The Fundamental Analyst will assist a global team in developing innovative methods to integrate traditional stock analysis into the firm's quantitative strategy, focusing on APAC and EMEA markets. Responsibilities include contributing to team coverage of fundamental events, communicating valuation changes to trading teams, developing trade ideas, performing due diligence for equity offerings, and interacting with sales and research contacts globally.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience analyzing securities.
  • Undergraduate degree (BS/BA equivalent) required.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Familiar with accounting, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling.
Good to have:
  • Prior experience with VBA and/or SQL is a plus.

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Fundamental Analyst to help our global team of generalists develop innovative ways to overlay traditional stock analysis onto the firm’s core quantitative strategy. The person will focus on all APAC and some EMEA markets. Our day-to-day work is diverse, and your analysis will help us find new ways to expand our trading opportunities.

Additional responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Contributing to team coverage of fundamental events and special situations
  • Precisely communicating valuation changes and investment theses to global trading teams in time-sensitive environments
  • Developing and evaluating trade ideas that involve fundamental catalysts or valuation insights
  • Performing due diligence, including valuation analysis for primary and secondary equity offerings
  • Interacting with sell-side sales and research contacts globally

About You

  • 5+ years of relevant experience analyzing securities (hedge fund analyst, long only analyst, sell side equity research, sell side sales and trading)
  • Undergraduate degree (BS/BA equivalent) required, degree in a quantitative field preferred
  • Effective communicator
  • Flexible enough to consider intellectually rigorous but nontraditional equity trading strategies
  • Familiar with accounting, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling
  • Prior experience with VBA and/or SQL is a plus, but not required
  • Fluency in English required
