Job Description & Summary

Our Shared Service Centre (SSC) is currently looking for a GL Accountant. This is an opportunity for a talented, self-motivated individual to develop their skill set and network in PwC, working with experienced Accounting and Finance practitioners across the region.

As a GL Accountant, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Work in SSC is specific and different from work in other departments of PwC. It combines the advantages of working in a SSC and the unique environment of the largest consultancy network in the world.

Your responsibilities:

Operational tasks

  • Entering financial data and transactions into the ledger in timely manner and high quality (as per agreed SLA)

  • Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts

  • Analyzing financial data and providing financial recommendations

  • Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards

  • Generating financial reports

  • Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support

  • Supporting the Head of Accounting, Auditor, Controller and other financial professionals in their duties as needed

  • Participation on standardization and efficiency projects

  • Other agreed accounting tasks per country specific requirements

Project tasks

  • Active participation on smooth transfer of GL activities from local site to SSC

  • Responsibility for stabilization of transferred activities

  • Preparation and regular update of working instructions

Personality requirements and skills

  • 3+ years experience in general ledger accounting or other relevant experience with complex double-entry accounting

  • undergraduate or graduate degree in finance or economics

  • good command of English (written and spoken - B2/C1) is a must

  • good command of German (written and spoken - B2) is advantage

  • knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles, procedures

  • knowledge of SAP Finance modules

  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • strong attention to detail, ability to analyze and interpret financial data

  • strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • ability to work independently

Salary: starting from 2 200 €

Starting date: upon agreement
