The Growth Content Marketing Manager will lead the development of an influencer and brand ambassador program, manage influencer output, adapt approaches to trends, and contribute to growth efforts. This role requires building from scratch, working within a lean team, and driving business value through social media. Responsibilities include creative ideation, feedback, negotiating incentives, and analyzing business impact. The candidate should be able to manage external agencies and contractors. Volley is seeking someone who can help spread the word about its games and bring fun to millions of new players.

Role Summary

We are seeking a talented Growth Content Marketing Manager to supercharge our social content, focused primarily on influencers and brand ambassadors. This role will build from the ground up, embedded in a lean and highly successful Growth team, and the ideal candidate is someone excited about taking a forensic approach to ‘cracking’ social media and driving real business value from it. As we bring new games to market, you will play a pivotal role in spreading the word about Volley and bringing fun to millions of new players.

What you’ll do at Volley

  • Lead the development of an influencer and brand ambassador program that will rock the social media landscape and bring attention to our awesome products.
  • Scale our program from 0 to 1 to 10 to 100 creators and partners in the social ecosystem as our business continues to rapidly expand.
  • Direct every aspect of our influencer output from creative ideation, to giving notes and feedback, to negotiating incentives and analyzing business impact.
  • Work with our in-house and external creatives to ensure we are maintaining brand alignment and showcasing our latest product innovations on social channels.
  • Nimbly adapt our approach and messaging as trends, culture and business outcomes shift; always being on top of what is coming next.
  • Inform and contribute to the other pillars of our growth engine – paid media, organic social & community efforts, and brand marketing & PR.
  • Build out our stack of technology, tools and contractors to deliver on your objectives and scale our operations over time.
  • Manage external agency and contractor partners as needed to deliver our output.

Stuff you may have done before 

  • Worked at rapid-growth startups or other business environments where you have a track record of delivering quickly and at scale
  • Built an influencer or ambassador program from the ground up for a consumer product or brand
  • Worked with household-name IP & talent, particularly in gaming or entertainment contexts, and are therefore familiar with their constraints and opportunities

Must-haves

  • Demonstrated experience in scaling influencer or brand ambassador partnerships that delivered concrete business results for consumer brands or apps; bonus points if in the gaming or entertainment space
  • A deep familiarity with the creative nuances of all major social media platforms in the United States (TikTok/Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat)
  • Strong business acumen as evidenced by a history of using social channels and/or UGC to drive bottom-line results, not just likes and comments
  • Experience managing both internal and external creative resources, such as content creators, agencies, contractors; or other relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

For Pay Transparency: The base salary range for this position is 119,040-156,240 annually, based on a local (San Francisco) hire. This is a portion of the pay band for the role and level we are seeking. The final offer amount will depend on experience, education and skills. Base pay is only one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
