Job Description

As an IT technician, you will be part of an IT team, responsible for responding to user needs on multiple networks and answering user requests while documenting provided actions. You will provide first and second line support, build and configure computers, and work with application owners. The role requires contributing to IT processes and monitoring request resolution. The role also includes validating security updates and modifying IT procedures.   • 2 years of computer support under Windows

Position overview

As an IT technician, your role will be to be part of an IT team as you will have the responsibility to respond to users’ needs on multiple networks.  You will have the responsibility to answer to users’ requests and to document provided actions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the first line support to users via the helpdesk phone line and/or the request logging application.
  • Direct and personalized support to users in accordance with requests.
  • Be part of an IT support team by contributing to the adherence and set-up of IT processes.
  • Monitor on daily basis through the reporting tools the progress status of the requests’ resolution.
  • Responsible for the validation of the security updates.
  • Build, configure, and deploy computers in accordance to users’ needs
  • Provide second line support as required.
  • Work with application owners to ensure proper operation and adequate performances of the environment.
  • Modify whenever required the specific procedures related to IT operations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in computer support under Windows.
  • Very good knowledge of computer architecture.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite 365.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
  • Self-starter highly motivated.
  • Hands-on and multitask capable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Communicate effectively with peers & colleagues, teamwork oriented.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues/problems related to applications and tools under a Windows environment.
  • Ability to deal with in-house developers in a courteous, respectful and professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as being part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work tasks and achieve results within agreed milestones.
  • Ability to conduct research, risk analysis and recommend appropriate strategies/solutions.
