What to Expect

The Process and Systems team in Supply Chain is responsible for developing systems to support the reliable and efficient flow of all direct materials to Tesla’s factories, distribution centers, service locations, installation sites, and other relevant sites. As a Logistics Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in both enhancing our Transportation Management System (TMS) and leading carrier API integrations for EMEA Inbound Logistics and Distribution teams. You will deliver process improvements, systems capabilities, and data insights critical to supporting increasing production volumes.

In this role, you’ll manage our TMS, advancing it to meet operational needs as Tesla expands across all business segments. You’ll oversee the logistics product roadmap aligned with user requirements from EMEA and work with IT teams to execute that roadmap. Additionally, you’ll lead API integrations with new carriers, creating seamless connections that support automated booking, tracking, and invoicing to drive logistics efficiency.

You will collaborate with inbound logistics teams and other stakeholders in the EMEA Supply Chain organization to understand requirements and ensure our systems provide effective, scalable solutions. Partnering closely with IT teams, you’ll play a hands-on role in refining the product, applying agile practices to deliver high-impact improvements. This role requires a motivated individual who is passionate about software development and excited to bring innovative solutions to a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage and improve our Transportation Management System to meet evolving operational needs as Tesla expands across all business segments, overseeing a roadmap aligned with end-user priorities.
  • Lead integration of new carriers via API to enable automated booking, tracking, and invoicing, enhancing the overall logistics process and driving end-to-end efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Logistics and other Supply Chain teams in EMEA to gather requirements, prioritize improvements, and communicate updates, ensuring solutions are responsive to business needs.
  • Apply data-driven analysis to track system performance, define KPIs, and identify opportunities for further improvement and scalability.
  • Drive process optimization initiatives to simplify, automate, and enhance supply chain systems, contributing to Tesla’s continuous growth and operational resilience.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting system issues, understanding root causes, and implementing improvements that drive operational continuity.
What You’ll Bring
  • Passion for software development in the supply chain domain and a high level of motivation to drive impactful solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in software product management within logistics or other areas of supply chain, with a good understanding of software development cycles.
  • Practical knowledge of supply chain and logistics operations, including transportation management systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analytics; Python knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with API integrations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and organizational levels.
