Netflix seeks a dedicated Studio Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager in Albuquerque, NM. This role requires implementing and overseeing safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving best practices at the studio. Responsibilities include partnering with operations and production to monitor safety, designing and implementing EHS systems, staying updated on regulations, developing and applying safety policies and procedures, conducting inspections and training, managing project priorities, responding to emergencies, leading emergency response teams, analyzing metrics for improvement, managing regulatory activities, and building relationships with safety organizations. The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of EHS experience, strong knowledge of relevant regulations, EHS certifications (or ability to obtain them), extensive film/TV studio operations experience, and excellent collaboration skills. The role demands strong problem-solving, project management, and communication capabilities, as well as physical ability to work at heights and outdoors.

We are looking for a dedicated Studio Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our dynamic team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role involves implementing, maintaining and overseeing programs to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety regulatory requirements and driving industry best management practices at our Studio.

You are a solution-driven leader who can clearly communicate across all levels of internal and external stakeholders and exercise good judgment.

This role will report to the UCAN Studio Safety Senior Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner closely with studio operations, production management and security to monitor the overall safety of the studio building, facilities, and equipment, ensuring a safe environment for all personnel. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, implement and review EHS management systems, equipment, processes and programs for Studio Operations.

  • Stay informed on existing and emerging EHS laws, regulations, policies, and industry practices to assess their impact on operations and business.

  • Responsible for developing and applying strategies, policies and procedures, as well as conducting inspections and training, to effectively manage all necessary requirements. 

  • Manage project priorities and resources while fostering relationships with multiple partner teams.

  • Respond to and investigate emergencies, incidents, and accidents, implementing root cause corrective actions. 

  • Lead the emergency response team by developing plans, implementing procedures and conducting training.

  • Collect, measure and analyze metrics and performance to identify trends for continuous improvement.

  • Manage regulatory agency and external stakeholder EHS activities, including reporting, visits, or inspections.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with industry safety organizations, as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10+ years of proven experience in EHS with a track record of increasing scope, responsibility and complexity, preferably at a multinational company.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal, regional, and local EHS regulations (i.e. OSHA, NM OSHA, EPA, NFPA, Local Fire Life Safety Regulations, etc.).

  • Professional EHS certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.) or ability to acquire certifications within one year of hire date. 

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of film and television studio operations, facility/vendor/contractor safety management and a comprehensive understanding of production activities, vendors and technology within the US market.

  • Experience collaborating with a diverse cross-functional team, including senior internal partners, project managers, legal, labor, human resources, risk management and workplace managers.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple technical assignments concurrently. 

  • Experience in developing and implementing goals and strategies aligned with organizational objectives. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence partners and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work at heights (catwalks, ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc).

  • Capable of handling tasks that demand physical strength and comfortable working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.

  • Proficiency with EHS Management software and common reporting tools.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $245,000.

We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
