As a Manufacturing Test Engineer at Google Cloud, you will be part of a team developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You'll contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide. Your expertise will shape the next generation of hardware experiences, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. You will develop and deploy robust test solutions for cutting-edge products in collaboration with Google's global manufacturing partners, while partnering with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to define comprehensive test requirements and provide Design for Testing (DFT) expertise to ensure testability and manufacturability. You will maintain smooth test operations for sustaining products by leveraging extensive manufacturing test knowledge and ensuring timely and accurate deployment of software and hardware changes to manufacturing test systems. You will lead initiatives to optimize test processes, increase test coverage, and reduce costs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality. You will identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing yield issues and field escapes, implementing preventive measures to ensure closure. You will develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for test processes and procedures to ensure standardized practices with internal and external partners.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in Hardware Engineering or Test Engineering in manufacturing.
  • Experience in driving improvement of test systems and processes to enhance efficiency and manufacturability.
  • Experience in developing and integrating manufacturing test hardware using custom electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation.
Good to have:
  • Experience in design or test of GPU, blade server, and networking products, with a focus on board and system-level functional tests in manufacturing.
  • Experience coding in Python, and Shell scripting, and familiarity with Linux or Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of test stations bring-up, incorporating proper validation methodology such as Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues collaboratively with the engineering team.
  • Ability to generate comprehensive test plans based on product specifications and execute testing procedures.
  • Ability to apply new technologies (e.g., automation, machine learning, and data analytics) to enhance manufacturing tests in efficiency or cost reductions.
