Start your game... As a Core Platform Engineer at Entain, you'll have a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation that powers our new Ladbrokes and Neds platforms. This role is focused on building and enhancing the core capabilities that enable other teams to excel, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency across our systems.

Your mission will centre around developing robust internal tools, libraries, and frameworks that empower teams across the organization. You’ll also propose and implement architectural improvements to streamline development processes, improve system performance, and drive innovation across our platforms.

Where and how you can work
This position can be based in any of our offices across Australia or New Zealand, or remotely within either country. At Entain AUS & NZ, we embrace flexibility by offering a hybrid working model, allowing employees to spend two days a week in the office to promote work-life balance and accommodate individual preferences.

Your day-to-day.

• Develop internal tools and frameworks to simplify workflows, enhance productivity, and ensure consistency across projects.
• Create and maintain shared libraries that promote reusability, scalability, and adherence to best practices.
• Identify and implement architectural enhancements, uncovering opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness, while driving the adoption of innovative solutions to optimize platform performance and reliability.
• Advocate for the mobile platform and collaborate with engineering and design teams to establish best practices and leverage native frameworks effectively.
• Support the development lifecycle, from ideation and design to deployment and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, setting technical standards and promoting knowledge sharing within the team.

You're a match if you have….

• Proven experience in building and maintaining tooling and internal libraries that have improved development workflows or system efficiency.
• Expertise in architectural design and implementing changes that drive performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Commercial experience in iOS, SwiftUI, and/or Android, Jetpack Compose. We value well-documented, performant, tested, and easily maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
  Proven track record of providing constructive feedback during code reviews
  Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges.
• You excel in critical and creative thinking, enabling you to come up with innovative solutions.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and a willingness to tackle challenges head-on, you are not afraid to dive into complex problems.
• A collaborative mindset and a strong ability to communicate effectively across teams, leveraging tools such as chat, video calls, and other online platforms.
