Job Description

As a Principal Engineer within the Office of the CTO in Google Cloud, you will create and reinforce the human pathways between Google Engineering and our most strategic customers and partners, allowing all of us to start from loosely defined, potentially transformative market opportunities and convert them into new, technology-enabled businesses. You will help our customers create their future and help us create the future of Google by continuously tuning our innovation system and products to the needs of the world’s most complex enterprises. You will partner with Engineering and Product teams to identify and test strategic, horizontal opportunities for differentiation across roadmaps, identify future state-of-cloud products and partner closely with technical teams to chart how we’d bring those future states to life, and help our most strategic customers and partners work through the complexity of adopting cutting edge cloud and AI technologies through expert advice.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of experience in software, hardware, or infrastructure engineering, with a focus on technical innovation and engineering leadership.
Experience in building AI products.
Experience leading and directing strategic initiatives without authority.
Experience coaching executive technical leaders and senior practitioners on cloud and AI adoption, leverage, benefits, and pitfalls.
Experience transitioning first-of products to scaled products and platforms, impacting the product and business strategy of an organization.

Good to have:

Master’s degree or PhD in an AI related field.
Experience as a recognized expert in the field of AI, with examples of products, platforms, or experiences built with AI at their core.
Experience as an entrepreneur or in a startup within a larger organization.

Minimum qualifications:
