About the Role
Macmillan Education – South Africa is seeking a skilled Production Controller to join our Regional Publishing Services team, based in Midrand. As a Production Controller, you will coordinate and manage the production processes of educational materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.
Role Responsibilities
Coordinating schedules and production processes
Managing budgets and costs
Managing relationships with suppliers
Liaising with key stakeholders
Record keeping and reporting
Performing quality control and ensuring compliance with company standards.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Printing or Production qualification (print and digital)
Undergraduate degree in publishing studies or other relevant field (advantageous)
Project management qualification/training (advantageous)
Experience with key software, including MS Office and Adobe applications/DTP software (including, but not limited, to Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
At least 2 years’ experience in a production or publishing environment, preferably in educational publishing
Knowledge of production processes for educational materials, including print and digital products
Proven project management experience, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects
Communication and interpersonal skills
Organisational and time management skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Strategic-thinking skills
Able to work effectively in a hybrid, deadline-driven environment
