Job Description

This role involves building a trading platform for a top-tier hedge fund. Responsibilities include manual and automated API testing, analyzing logs and test results, backend automation, creating test cases in TestRail, and manual testing of the desktop application. The platform includes front-office systems, pre-trade checks, intra-day position management, order management and routing, risk and limits management, trading activity reports, FIX connectivity, and market data provider connectivity. Interaction with stakeholders, developers, and other QA is crucial. The ideal candidate possesses strong backend testing experience, knowledge of stock exchange trading, client-server architecture, and Java/Cucumber. Experience with FIX protocol, Kafka, AWS, Docker, and CI/CD is beneficial.

Project description

Building a trading platform for innovative international top-tier hedge fund from the ground up, comprising of front-office system for traders, pre-trade checks and analysis, intra-day positions management, order management and routing, risks and limits management, reports of trading activities, FIX connectivity, market data providers connectivity (e.g. Bloomberg B-pipe).

Responsibilities

Interaction with business stakeholders, end-users, developers, and other QA;

Manual API testing

Analyzing logs and test results

Work on backend automation

Creation test cases in TestRail

Be pro-active in terms of process building

Manual testing of desktop application (trading platform)

Skills

Must have

Must be willing to do manual testing

Must be willing to maintain and execute automation suites in a rotational basis

Experience on backend manual testing

Strong knowledge of test design

Business domain experience (stock exchange trading)

Strong knowledge of client-server software architecture model

Good backend and test data management understanding

Good working knowledge of Java and Cucumber

Good working knowledge of JavaScript

Advanced UNIX CLI experience

Good debugging/troubleshooting skills for test failure analysis

Good working knowledge of REST and SOAP API;

Good working knowledge of SQL;

Nice to have

FIX protocol

Effective communication skills

Ready to work any test automation tools

Experience with Kafka;

Experience with AWS tools

Experience with Docker

Experience with CI/CD in QA context
