Quality Engineer Intern - Masters

About the Team:

Our team is leading platform transformations to support multi-tenancy, domain separation, revamping the financial ledger, guest checkout, and more. We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that enhance the payment experience for PlayStation users worldwide.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will work in an Agile Scrum environment to support quality engineering activities in the payments space. This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate closely with Senior QE engineers and developers to ensure our software products meet the highest standards of quality. You will:

  • Work with Senior QE engineers and developers to create and execute test plans for new functionality
  • Write automated test cases to support these plans
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams to continuously deliver high-quality software products that delight Sony customers
  • Create and maintain regression and smoke test suites
  • Serve as a quality gate by providing release sign-off to ensure our solutions meet user expectations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Projected to graduate by Spring 2026
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in any Engineering field
  • Passion for quality assurance and interest in quality processes
  • Hands-on experience with Java programming
  • Understanding of RESTful web services and web application concepts
  • Ability to estimate the effort and size of features
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Eligibility:

  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
