Job Description

The Scheduling Coordinator coordinates work and materials flow using the ERP system. They will assist in forecasting production levels for the coming three months. Key responsibilities include reviewing and entering work orders, scheduling jobs, reporting job status, monitoring work center loads, managing job completion, coordinating with Production Supervisors, and providing dashboard reporting. They are also responsible for running various reports, scheduling jobs as needed, overseeing the planning workbench, and making part substitutions. This role requires someone who can work independently, collaborate cross-functionally, and meet deadlines. They also should have experience in an operations role, preferably in a manufacturing or consumer environment. Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred.

Job Details

Hourly Pay Range:  $20 - $25 dependent on experience*

Job Summary

The Scheduling Coordinator coordinates and utilizes the ERP system to schedule the flow of work and materials within or between work centers. The Scheduler will assist the Production Manager and Plant Manager in following up on a long-range build plan forecasting production levels for the coming three-month period.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and entering work orders
  • Completing jobs for shipment schedules
  • Schedule jobs upon receipt of sales order entry from Project Management. Verify the weekly plant schedule by work center using the Shop Load Detail Report from the ERP system.
  • Report job status and scheduled shipments in weekly production meetings.
  • Monitor and analyze work center loads. Work with Master Scheduler to review reports that show imbalance and make suggestions and update the balance of work center loads.
  • Work with Production Managers and Supervisors to verify data collection through labor edit reports. Manage the job completion cycle by closing jobs daily.
  • Coordinate with the Production Supervisor regarding travelers for Assembly only jobs to ensure they are started on time.
  • Run two job status reports weekly and monthly and complete them.
  • Schedule all cold press and melamine jobs.
  • Work with Engineering to update jobs if a BOM is changed.
  • Work with Purchasing to ensure jobs are in line with material arrival.
  • Provide dashboard reporting that includes schedule attainment and overall production numbers for upper management.
  • Run various weekly reports to ensure jobs are correctly scheduled properly.
  • Run time phase negative report and schedule jobs as needed for all customers daily.
  • Oversee the planning workbench that has items entered on sales orders without part numbers.
  • Responsible for meeting with procurement and making part subs as needed

Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in an operations role in a manufacturing environment, consumer environment industry preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of ERP software preferred but not required
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred but not required
  • Ability to express oneself professionally utilizing both verbal and written communications
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate within a multi-departmental team
  • Must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
