Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (#2272)

N-iX is looking for skilled and mature Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join the team on growing project! Our client is the leading retail chain in Uzbekistan, with about a million regular customers and more than 125 stores in 11 regions. The company operates supermarkets, neighborhood stores, convenience stores, a wholesale store, and an online supermarket. The client also runs two warehouses (dry and temperature-controlled) and a fruits/vegetables hub. We aim to deploy a robust, flexible, and scalable Data Warehouse, BI platform, and analytics layer, along with data processing tools (e.g., Python workbooks) and integrations with Client’s IT systems. This project will enhance data governance practices and support significant company growth, laying the groundwork for advanced AI/ML solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions to transform raw data into actionable insights.
• Create and manage dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of data presented in BI platforms.
• Perform data validation, cleansing, and transformation activities to ensure high data quality.
• Optimize queries and BI tools for performance and scalability.
• Provide training and support to business users on BI tools and data analysis techniques.
• Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to support business decision-making.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and analytics.
• Validate data during the migration process to ensure accuracy and integrity.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Business Intelligence Developer or Engineer.
• Strong expertise with BI tools such as Power BI.
• Proficient in SQL, DAX or Power Query and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with platforms like Databricks and Azure Synapse.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in data analysis.
• Previous experience in the retail sector.
