The Senior Director of Corporate Development will be at the forefront of driving and accelerating GoDaddy's growth by identifying industry trends, managing external partnerships, and leading strategic acquisitions and investments. This role involves leading transaction teams, driving growth, and enhancing market position through portfolio reviews and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication, project management, and negotiation skills, and will be responsible for leading all aspects of deal processes, including financial modeling, due diligence, and post-merger integration. The role requires aligning with the company's strategy and driving investments to improve capabilities and expand market presence. They will also cultivate relationships with executives, identify investment opportunities, and ensure the financial success of projects.

Location Details: Santa Clara or United States, Remote

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This position may be a hybrid or fully remote position, as decided by your manager. If designated as hybrid, you’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office location, so you should live within commuting distance. If designated as remote, you’ll be working remotely from your home and may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings. Your hiring manager can share more about this role’s hybrid or remote designation.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

The Corporate Development team is at the forefront of driving and accelerating the next chapter of growth and plays a foundational role in driving company growth via the identification of industry trends, managing and growing relationships with external partners, as well as identifying, negotiating, structuring, and driving strategic acquisitions and investments!

Reporting into GoDaddy’s Head of Corporate Development, this professional leads transaction teams of corporate development, functional and business professionals to drive growth and enhance GoDaddy’s market position through portfolio reviews, strategic investments and acquisitions. This leader plays a pivotal role in crafting future growth through investments, acquisitions, and innovation to improve capabilities and expand market presence.

What you'll get to do...

  • Cultivate robust strategic relationships with our executives and business unit leaders, to identify, evaluate, and accelerate strategic investment and acquisition opportunities
  • Lead, drive, and coordinate all aspects of inorganic growth, by helping identify and develop a pipeline of investment and acquisition opportunities by leveraging and expanding
  • Align closely with our strategy and partnerships team, on investment and acquisition opportunities in line with our long-term strategic and operational goals
  • Drive across all aspects of the deal process, including financial modeling, due diligence, structuring, negotiations and closing, as well as overseeing all aspects of post-merger integration activities, in partnership with our integration team
  • Craft, establish and maintain deal playbooks to ensure a robust and repeatable process to sourcing, appraising acquisition opportunities efficiently, from due diligence to signing to closing
  • Lead all aspects of, and ensure the financial success of projects, through meticulous case modeling and due diligence
  • Engage closely with senior leaders across our business units and strategy team, to complete strategic investments and acquisitions aligned with our long-term strategies
  • Conduct regular assessments of our portfolio, and ensure it is optimized through divestitures and other corporate actions
  • Own and lead partner coordination, across our investment and acquisition activities

Your experience should include...

  • 15+ years of extensive and progressive transaction experience within a public corporation, investment bank or private equity firm. Prior corporate development experience at a mid-to-large size public technology company is preferred
  • Comprehensive and significant experience across all facets of deal execution, including target identification, analysis, due diligence, negotiation, and post-deal integration, as well as ongoing portfolio analysis and optimization, including through divestitures
  • Independently leading deals, with significant experience in sourcing, negotiating, structuring and closing complex transactions across acquisitions, strategic investments, warrants, and divestitures
  • Exceptional communication, persuasion and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and align with partners and senior leaders at all levels within the organization along with demonstrated ability to run multiple projects concurrently, while aligning seamlessly with product, tech, corporate and related teams
  • Consistent track record in mentoring, coaching and continuous learning, across both direct reports and your own development
  • Track record of continuous improvement in end-to-end deal processes including usage of advanced technology and AI to effect enhancements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration
