Job Description

The Senior Director, Global Distribution Strategy & Risk Management will play a crucial role in driving long-term partnerships within the evolving media landscape. This position involves close collaboration with various departments, including Legal, Sales, Marketing, Programming, and Finance, to support strategic and financial growth. Key responsibilities include deal analysis, scenario modeling, competitive benchmarking, financial projections, and contributing to overall business support across Distribution and Finance. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a team-oriented approach, and excellent communication and organizational abilities. Additionally, the role includes competitive market analysis to identify trends and partnership opportunities, and general business support, such as invoice management and ad monetization.

Job Details

Univision’s Content Distribution team is seeking a dynamic, collaborative professional to help drive long-term partnerships in an ever-evolving media landscape. This high-impact role requires close collaboration with departments across the company—including Legal, Sales, Marketing, Programming, and Finance—to support strategic and financial growth initiatives. Key responsibilities include deal analysis, scenario modeling, competitive benchmarking, and broader business support across Distribution and Finance. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a team-first mindset, and excellent communication and organizational abilities. This position reports to the Distribution CFO.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

Financial Analysis & Support

  • Perform deal analysis and scenario modeling across various distribution partners (MVPDs, vMVPDs, SVOD, AVOD, DTC, etc.).
  • Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each distributor, with a focus on revenue, advertising impact, and overall business performance.
  • Prepare financial projections and reports for stakeholders across multiple divisions.
  • Support cash management processes, including cash flow analysis and coordination with Finance to align timing and accuracy.
  • Contribute to estimate forecasting, long-range planning, and expense tracking related to distribution revenue and operations.
  • Analyze subscriber trends and their financial impact to inform strategic planning and deal negotiations.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Sales, and Marketing to optimize recurring revenue from distribution partnerships.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, including board presentations, negotiation summaries, and risk/opportunity assessments.

Competitive and Market Analysis

  • Partner with Operations and Research teams to strengthen Univision’s positioning in distribution negotiations.
  • Create valuation models and financial proposals using various research tools and market statistics.
  • Monitor the evolving pay-TV and streaming landscape—including MVPDs, vMVPDs, DTC, SVOD, and OTT—to identify trends, competitive moves, and partnership opportunities.

General Business Support

  • Support Distribution Finance, Sales, and Operations with various business processes such as invoice management, ad monetization, and internal reporting.
  • Manage and execute ad hoc initiatives and cross-functional projects to support strategic and operational goals.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong PC Skills with expert knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment
  • Must be able to think strategically/analytically about a problem and work out solutions efficiently.
  • Knowledge of the content distribution and entertainment market (particularly for broadcasters).
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain focus and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and must work well with others.
  • Relationship building ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge and consumption of Univision content a plus!
