Experience with load balancing, VXLAN, Cisco ISE or Infoblox DNS is highly valued. This is a hybrid role based in Irvine, CA.
Must have:
  • 7+ years' experience with Cisco switches/routers

Good to have:

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Be a key player in network engineering projects that support ongoing game development spanning across a multi-site global network
  • Enjoy engineering freedom, exploring new technologies, while committing to fit-for-purpose designs and showing a strong sense of ownership
  • You will be focusing on network technologies spanning across routing & switching, firewall implementation and configuration, data center networking, wireless, and DNS
  • You will identify operational pain points and suggest and implement improvements, while supporting automation efforts when it comes to network device deployment, configuration and standard practices
  • You will advocate for healthy operational practices. You will drive incident investigations, troubleshooting efforts and proactively act on identified setup weakness, towards improving resiliency and availability of our corporate and development services
  • Work on user network issues that get escalated from our service desk team
  • Be a part of our on-call support rotation, shared with your colleagues around the world

Your technical expertise

  • 7+ Years’ Experience working professionally with switches and routers (Cisco Catalyst and Nexus preferred)
  • Deep understanding and experience with routing protocols (such as BGP, OSPF) and network protocols (such as IPv4, IPv6, NAT, Multicast, Spanning Tree)
  • Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching hardware platforms architecture, forwarding and data planes
  • Strong experience with Palo Alto firewalls. Knowledge of using Panorama to implement device groups and templates to make changes to firewalls globally. Experience with implementing site to site tunnels. Knowledge of GlobalProtect VPN
  • Experience with load balancing hardware (A10 or similar hardware)
  • Experience with VXLAN flood and learn and familiarity with VXLAN EVPN
  • If you have strong experience with either Cisco ISE or Infoblox DNS (or both) you will have a much higher consideration in the selection process
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems, NMS systems
  • Experience deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining network hardware and software, for one or more vendors: Cisco, Palo Alto, etc. / NX-OS, IOS-XE, PAN-OS

Extra Points

  • You are passionate about online gaming and/or Blizzard games
  • Knowledge of IPv6
  • Experience with open-source tools facilitating the management of network infrastructure services
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems and/or virtualization technologies and/or Linux containers
  • Knowledge or experience of writing or using advanced scripts in any programming language

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
