Elsewhere Entertainment seeks a Lead Network Programmer in Warsaw, Poland or Malmö, Sweden (hybrid). Job Description:

Position available in Warsaw, Poland or Malmö, Sweden (On-Site Hybrid)

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Lead Network Programmer to join the development of a new IP.   
 
You’ll oversee online and networking development and help manage a team.

As a leader on the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.

 
You’ll help us by 

  • Coach and mentor fellow Network Programmers.

  • Architect and implement high performance network code solutions for client and server game logic 

  • Develop networking code to interact with backend systems and online services 

  • Maximize scale by optimizing network replication, reliability, and throughput 

  • Partner with the engineering and design teams to build multi-server gameplay systems 

  • Optimize and debug game network traffic and improve on existing network architecture. 

You’re awesome because you have 

  • 5+ years of experience in network programming. 

  • Excellent debugging and performance analysis skills. 

  • Experience working on backend game systems or on client interface to backend game systems. 

  • Experience with game networking techniques. 

  • Deep knowledge of C++ programming and practices. 

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. 

  • The ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team 

  • Creativity in problem solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude 

  • Organization methods and the capability to meet deadlines 

  • Comfort with self-critique and accepting outside feedback 

Bonus points for 

  • Experience as a managing engineer. 

  • Experience in other areas of video game technology. 

  • Experience with multi-platform development, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. 

  • Working in and extending an established code base. 

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles
