As a Senior Performance Media Planner at PlayStation, you will lead paid media strategies to drive digital commerce growth and customer lifetime value. Your responsibilities include managing full-funnel campaigns across various platforms, optimizing performance based on KPIs, collaborating with agencies and internal teams, and identifying new opportunities. This role involves designing and executing media plans, analyzing data, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives. You will also mentor junior team members and contribute to departmental goals. This role requires deep channel expertise, creative problem solving, and strategic ownership. The role involves working on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors and exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Must have:
  • 8+ years of paid media planning experience
  • Experience with performance media channels like Meta Ads, Google Ads
  • Understanding of eCommerce KPIs and digital attribution

As a Senior Performance Media Planner, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and execution of paid media strategies that drive digital commerce growth and customer lifetime value. This highly autonomous role requires deep channel expertise, creative problem solving, and strategic ownership — ideal for someone who thrives on performance data, rapid experimentation, and delivering measurable revenue impact. You will independently manage complex, full-funnel campaigns in partnership with agency teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and global colleagues, while also mentoring junior team members and helping to shape broader department goals.

What you'll be doing:

Performance Media Planning & Execution

  • Lead the design, management, and optimization of paid media campaigns across search, social, display, affiliate marketing, and (as appropriate) retail media networks.

  • Demonstrate media subject matter expertise to diverse groups of collaborators in support of growth marketing ambitions to enable customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.

  • Translate business objectives into sophisticated, conversion-driven media plans that improve acquisition, engagement, and retention.

  • Develop and execute full-funnel media plans, from upper-funnel prospecting to retargeting and loyalty-building.

  • Build structured test-and-learn agendas focused on optimizing eCommerce outcomes such as conversion rate, CAC, AOV, and cart abandonment.

Performance Optimization & Growth

  • Leverage advanced analytical capabilities to turn trends into actionable insights and hypotheses.

  • Independently monitor and improve campaign performance based on real-time KPIs (iROAS, CAC, AOV, incremental conversions).

  • Design complex media experiments and apply sophisticated optimization techniques to maximize revenue impact and media efficiency.

  • Leverage attribution, behavioral data, and purchase insights to proactively identify optimization opportunities and influence strategy.

Agency Management

  • Act as the lead day-to-day partner for external agencies, setting performance expectations, overseeing execution, and ensuring campaigns deliver against revenue and efficiency goals.

  • Drive agency accountability for budget allocation, targeting refinement, and continuous optimization based on sales and customer signals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams (CRM, creative, analytics, product) to integrate media plans with broader promotional, launch, and lifecycle strategies.

  • Tailor global media strategies to local market dynamics, informed by customer behavior and commerce trends.

  • Drive alignment with planning leads across business units, ensuring that media execution, testing agendas, and innovation initiatives integrate seamlessly into broader portfolio campaigns and business priorities.

  • Contribute to cross-team knowledge sharing and capability development.

Innovation & Experimentation

  • This role involves working on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors and exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Identify, test, and scale emerging media channels, technologies, and creative formats that unlock measurable business growth.

  • Develop and lead structured innovation initiatives, synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations for future planning.

  • Participate in agile working rhythms such as sprints, retrospectives, and planning cadences

Success Measures

  • Achievement of campaign-specific eCommerce KPIs, including iROAS, CAC, AOV, cart completion rate, and incremental revenue growth.

  • Successful delivery of high-impact optimizations and innovation initiatives through structured test cycles.

  • Demonstrated strategic influence on growth marketing performance, media efficiency, and customer acquisition/retention objectives.

  • Contribution to broader departmental goals through leadership, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in paid media planning, growth marketing, or a related digital discipline (eCommerce or subscription model experience strongly preferred).

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Previous experience working in a global role.

  • Extensive experience with performance media channels and platforms such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, DV360, Amazon Ads, and affiliate networks.

  • Deep understanding of eCommerce KPIs, customer lifecycle marketing, and digital attribution methodologies.

  • Proficient in measurement and analytics platforms like Adobe Customer Journey Analytics.

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with a consistent track record of influencing cross-functional and agency partners.

  • Highly independent, creative problem solver who can manage complex projects end-to end within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Displayed AI literacy by incorporating emerging tools to improve media efficiency and guide smarter, data-driven decisions.
